Scenes and Automations, What's the Difference?
Scenes and automations combine conditional statements with tasks (if THIS, then THAT). For example, a scene is a series of actions that happen when you manually tap a saved scene in the Feit Electric app. While automations occur automatically when a specific condition or set of conditions have been met. Enhance Your Outdoor Gatherings
BBQ season is here which means it is time to step outdoors. Whether you’re celebrating Memorial Day weekend, a birthday, looking for summer party ideas, or just want to have a casual backyard party with your friends, you’ll have to prep your space for a fun over the fire cooking day. Keep reading to learn about two Smart Automations that will make BBQ Season a breeze!
Time to Eat Alert
Lighting should be the least of your worries when you’re having fun with friends and family. To ensure dinner time isn’t interrupted by darkness, pair your Feit Electric Smart Wi-Fi Outdoor Plugs with your non-smart plug-in lights to turn on automatically as soon as the sun goes down. Let your guests can get their grub on by doing the following:- Open the Feit Electric app and connect your Smart Wi-Fi Outdoor Plug
- Tap Smart Scenes
- In the Automation tab tap Create Scene or tap the plus (+) symbol on the top right corner of the screen
- Tap Sunrise/Sunset>Sunset/Sunrise
- Tap Sunset>save
- Then tap Run the device >Smart Outdoor Plug >Switch >ON
- Before tapping Save tap the plus (+) symbol next to Then
- Tap Run the device > Strip Light
- Tap Switch>ON>Save
- Then tap Color Light and select your favorite color and save
- Tap Next and rename your Automation
- Save!
Time to Go Home
Send a subtle hint to your guests at the end of the night by having your outdoor lights dim down and change from color to white light. This will let your guests know your gathering has come to an end and allow them to get ready to end the night without making them feel rushed out. A quick and easy way to turn down the lights is to simply create an Automation. Here’s how to politely let your guests know it is time to exit:- On the Feit Electric app tap Smart Scenes
- In the Automation tab tap Create Scene or tap the plus (+) symbol on the top right corner of the screen
- Tap Schedule> set to 11:00 p.m.>Next
- Tap Run the device and select your first bulb >Switch>ON
- Tap White Light> set the slider to 2928K>Save > Next
- Repeat the steps to add another bulb to your Automation
- Once you’ve added all your lights, name your Automation Go Home and tap Save
